I've recently taken a new look on gift-giving.
It happens.
Repeatedly.
And when I realize that gift-giving happens, repeatedly, every single year,
it gets a little more fun.
a little more "frivolous," if you will.
GONE
are the days of needing The Perfect Gift
GONE

HERE
are the days of
"this is delightful. i would like more Delight for you, my beloved."
and so
i present
The Delightful Guide to Mother's Day
find something delightful for your mother!
I mean, my mom doesn't have a lot of decor or a lot of books or a lot of bookshelves
so she's not actually getting these,
but you cannot deny that they ARE delightful
and therefore, would make a very delightful present.
I would love them!
How delightful!
A playful Mom could step out in delighting style every time it rains!
She would feel frivolous, light
brightening up the gloomy day with her sassy smile and fun attitude!
In a sea of sameness, she will shine!
Also, she will have a fantastic talking-point with everyone she meets.
This is certainly delightful
and will raise a mom's style +1
3. Chocolate!
Duh!
Chocolate truffles are always delightful!
and i'm a fan of Vosges Exotic Truffle Box.
They're exotic, that's delightful.
I was also interested in the Vosges Chocolate Library
but
there's just something about delectable, delicate little treats
aka TRUFFLES
that delight every time.
4. OOOOh!
Perfume!
Mom's need to feel pretty.
Mom's need to feel light.
Mom's need this.
A perfume sampler (that you know is good, obvs. don't go buying something disgusting.)
How delightful!
5. Okay, so one Mother's Day,
I bought my mom a necklace that I thought she would like
and she did not
and a year later, it came back to me,
which is awesome
because NOW I HAVE A GREAT NECKLACE, TOO!
BUT.
I still kind of like to adorn her.
Perhaps it harkens back to the days when she let me play with her hair?
Perhaps.
Anyway,
figure out what your mom likes
my mom kind of like delicate pieces
and see if you can find something to suit her.
