hmmmm....where did i put my article for this one?
two months ago, before my life went into chaos mode, i read an awesome article that i wanted to share with you guys about how some designers were given the challenge to make tutus a fashion statement, so they did, and then they also got some huge ballet company to model them.
and there were a lot of sweet pictures, like this one, and i wanted to blog them.
and now, i see this picture saved on my computer and i can't remember any of the details, except that this pic is AWESOME and that's kinda all i know.
but awesome rocks, right? ;P

a few sweet, simple shots from a vintage san franciscan wedding (via 100layercake) where the bride and groom used ornaments as their guest book.
oooh so smart.
my mom, clever lady that she is, puts together a Christmas box for her favorite newlyweds. it goes back to her first christmas, when she realized how empty their tree and home was. :) so these peeps, who asked their friends and family to write little notes/words of advice, and then drop them into a glass ball, were smarty-pantsaroonies.
Yep. A roonies. :)

you can buy this underwear
and believe me, you want to.first of all, check out these photos.
these women look AWESOME.
for once...perhaps an actual role model? my biggest problem with models is that they look like suck. they look like they have ZERO life experience, and half the time, they don't even look like they remotely relate to what they're wearing.
which kills me.
i will happily buy almost anything from nice people who have a glimmer of personality. i will not buy anything from anyone who looks like suck.
so these women, being model underwear models, tickle me to death. they look AWESOME. like they can slam a few back and still make the planet a greener place. yay for cool women!

secondly awesome is the zippy posting from this etsy seller's site where she talks about her ability to make any shirt into underwear. it's silly. it's real. it's great. :)
High waisted and low waisted, super comfy and made out of t-shirts. Not only is there a seemingly limitless supply of epic eagle/wolf/motorcycle/lightning/jet fighter images out there waiting on over sized thrift store t-shirts to be converted into the cutest piece of clothing you ever covered up, but boy howdie does a slogan change in awesome ways when you move it from your t-shirt to you underwear.
These are one of a kind and made to order like every thing in my shop. In the future, I will put up pictures of t-shirts I have found for you to pick from, but for now, if you'd like a custom pair of t-shirt undies you can send me a convo with the color of undies you'd prefer, and whether you are leaning towards a snarky slogan or an epic image more, and also your measurements (hips at their widest (that's around your bottom) and waist at it's narrowest (just below your rib cage)). And then you can just trust to my taste that I'll make you something wicked cool. Because I will.
That being said, the underwear still available from the above pictures are: the angry wolves and the ymca low riders (made to fit hip size 34-38).
Oh, another awesome idea is you could send me your favorite t-shirt, and I will turn it into your favorite underwear. What do you think about that?
so, please, if it pleases you, give Slippery Slope Bloomer a convo, and get some new pantsies! :)

The Debate Rages: Matching vs. Not
Hey y'all.
I was talking with Ash the other day about the debate over matching vs. non-matching bridesmaids dresses.
Seems to be, lots and lots of brides to be LOVE the idea...but don't know how to pull it off.
Most are worried about keeping the maids uniformed, keeping the colors together, grouping them so that they all still feel like part of the wedding, as a whole.
And then, today, I found this post from Meg Perotti about how she did mixmatched bridesmaids dresses for her wedding. It's brilliant! (helped, in part, by the fact that her styles truly are to die for--so beautiful.)
And here's what I learned from Miss Perotti: 1) Go talk to the owner of a vintage store you love. Tell her what you're looking for, and ask her to keep an eye out for you.
and 2) Make a date of it! Take all your girls at once so you can see how the dresses look on and against one another.

Unless you're my dad, and then I'm sure you could care less.
Right, Dad? ;)

Seeing Stars (as headpieces)

I follow a bunch of wedding blogs, and i'm not ever really expecting to be surprised with the quality they produce, in terms of weddings they feature. One of them is decidedly california beach bum, and this is kinda boring, to me. It's so standard. I LOVE funky weddings, with FUNKY PEOPLE, who love to do really FUN, FUNKY things. So when I saw this wedding on 100 Layer Cake, I was just happy as a peach. this woman is too cool, entirely thinking out of the box on this special day of hers (and his), and I loved it. You can see more (and better) pictures here at 100layercake
You'll love it too.

something AWESOME will happen
OR I'LL FIND THE COOLEST FREAKING JEWELRY HOLDERS ON THE PLANET
