margies

sometimes you don't know you need a margarita.

and then
you're sitting at your desk
on a friday afternoon
and it's pretty darn late

and every pore in your body begins to sing together in unison
MARGARITA MARGARITA MARGARITA

where does this song come from, you wonder
i have not wanted a marg in ages
i have not even been thinking about margies at all

but there the song persists, and there it is, very loud.

and so you facebook it.

Allyson West "needs a margarita,"

and within seven minutes,
from the time it's taken you to get from your car to your boyfriend's house
you have nine hits
of others also desperate for a margarita
and one of them is actually a friend who lives in town and wants to go get drinks.

SO YOU DO.
and it is amazing.

you go to El Toro in Hyde Park Plaza
where,
once upon a time,
you claimed this place was the only place in Cincinnati that had decent mexican food
but, actually,
upon revisitation,
you are pretty not impressed by their casual approach to enchiladas.
HOWEVER
their margaritas
which come in FIVE DIFFERENT SIZES
are VERY impressive
and maybe make the food taste like the dew from the heavens.
(the chips and salsa are very good, always.)

in fact, you realize, heck! its been a nutso week
why don't i get my margie frozen?
(when in fact i usually prefer them on the rocks)

and so,
you find yourself
happy and content
and more than pleased
talking with a very sweet friend
and a very sweet boyfriend
and laughing uproariously when the opportunity presents itself.

how wonderful!
how wonderful!
